This radio is versatile, cost effective and powerful, this is one of the worlds most famous hand held radios.  There's a little controversy with this radio because it's able to communicate with both FRS/GMRS/HAM radio frequencies at a whopping 5 watts.  Technically, these ARE NOT legal to transmit on unless it's an emergency.  

Frequency Range: 136-174 / 400-479.995 MHz.

-Power through Your Adventures: There are two ways to power your radio: use the included NiMH rechargeable batteries for up to 10 hours or use 3 AA batteries for up to 29 hours.

-22 Channels / 121 Privacy Codes = 2,662 combinations.

-Compatible with Any Radio: You can communicate with other FRS/GMRS radios regardless of brand by being on the same channel and privacy codes.
