Even if you purchase an off-road oriented jack, I highly recommend you keep your OEM scissor jack in your vehicle. It has a very low profile that's no more than 4 inches. If you blow a tire on a trail on rough uneven terrain then you've just lost as much height as your tire sidewall. For example, my 2019 Honda Passport has 14 inches of clearance at the side overhangs, but my tire sidewall is 6.8 inches. This can leave me as low as 7.2 inches of clearance after the tire blow out. My off-road jack will no longer slip under. I'd have to either drive my blown out tire on top of a rock, or I could just slip in my OEM jack and jack my vehicle up enough to insert my off-road jack.
